Sudhir Upadhyay has a new place on web ->
This blog is no longer updated. offers Indian railways reservations

Posted: September 25th, 2008 | Author: | Filed under: Tools/Service | 4 Comments » has partnered with with IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd.) to offer train reservations for Indian Railways.

So, what has changed? Now, you can book Indian railway ticket with simple and ease on Clear Trip. I did try some search on Cleartrip and was amazed by the speed of results. I wonder why these results do not appear so fast on IRCTC website?
Although, the Cleartrip’s clean interface and speed is appreciated but the website does not show the full list of trains. See in the below screenshot: I searched for trains between Mumbai Central to New Delhi for 16th Dec, 2008. Cleartrip show’s me only one train whereas IRCTC shows 9 trains for the same day.

Is IRCTC not sharing the complete database? :-)
I am sure once Cleartrip overcomes these minor issues, it would be a breeze to book railway tickets online on cleartrip and there would be no Unable To Retrieve Due To Communication failure messages.

    Hey Sudhir
IRCTC treats mumbai central as all mumbai stations, for example it searches trains starting from Bandra and stopping at H. Nizamuddin. Cleartrip on the other hand shows trains only from that station which you have searched for. In my view cleartrip does a better work in respecting my choice.

However, if you want to see all the trains from mumbai to Delhi search for Mumbai –All stations to New delhi — All stations. These choices come are offered as first option as you start to type “Mumbai” or Delhi.
This is the search I did and got almost all results. Hope it helps.

Just put the right age and continue with booking. Based on the IRCTC will calculate the charge. Before pay the money you could verify the same.
